No more pasta not being al dente. That’s why there is Al Dente, the smart pasta timer. Everyone knows the situation, you just want to cook some pasta, but it comes out too mushy. Or too hard. That ends now.
Put Al Dente in the boiling water together with the pasta and off you go. Now just wait for the right melody. An integrated temperature sensor and a timer start a melody generator in the small saucepan gangster. When the noodles are al dente, the mafioso blares out songs from the saucepan.
How to cook perfect pasta 
Place together
Place Al Dente and pasta into the pan with boiling water.
Boil together

Rinse off
Drain pasta, rinse off Al Dente with cold water.

What is the perfect cooking level for pasta?
In general, noodles are considered done when they are al dente. Al dente is the Italian term for “to the tooth.” The noodles should not be too soft because they will fall apart, but not too hard either.
How will Al Dente know my pasta is perfect?
It plays four different tunes, for four different timings. With these four timings, almost any pasta is covered. Perfect cooking time will be mentioned on your pasta packaging. This way you can choose the right tune.
How does Al Dente work?
It contains a sensor, which triggers the timer as soon as it contacts boiling water. Then, Al Dente will start singing after 3, 7, 9 and 11 minutes have elapsed.
Is Al Dente food safe?
Our pasta obviously is food safe. Made in Germany with food safe ingredients and tested for food safety as a final product. Al Dente neither will be harmful, nor have any effect on the taste of your pasta. Just on the fun making it.

It works and its adorable
Took a while for this to arrive. I bought this for my husband, who can’t time pasta to save himself. I’m Sicilian, properly cooked pasta is essential. You drop ‘Guido,’ I’ve named him, in a pot from the start and at about 9 minutes, music plays and yes, changes the longer in the pot. The Godfather theme is just a crack up. Yes, its accurate too. All you do is pour Guido out with the water in a strainer, (do not try to lift it out, too hot) rinse it off afterwards. The price is a bit steep but was worth it to get a laugh. And no undercooked pasta!

This pasta timer really works!
In 2023 I was purchasing kitchen articles for a “Family Night Italian Dinner” church raffle basket and found this “Al Dente” pasta timer. It was a fun and unusual addition to our basket and I decided to get one for myself later. I was very surprised to find that it actually worked. I put it in the pot with the water and spaghetti noodles and after about 10 minutes we heard it playing the “Godfather” movie theme. The pasta was al-dente at that point. We listened to the music a little longer and suddenly the tune switched to “That’s Amore”. The pasta was done perfectly. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is that we had to be in the kitchen to hear the timer music. My daughter could not hear it in the next room. I tried to purchase another timer for my son but it was no longer available. I was pleased to find it again this year and purchased it for him. This is a great timer to use when family or friends are socializing in the kitchen while the pasta is being cooked. It works well, but stay in close proximity to it or you will miss the music.Update: Used Al-Dente pasta timer again last night with a thicker pasta (Rigatoni). The timer played the Godfather theme when the pasta was just barely aldente. It rang again later playing the Tarantella (not That’s Amore) & at that point it was truely aldente. We continued to cook the pasta and a third melody (a chorus from Verdi’s opera Nabucco) played and the pasta was done. Gotta love this Al-Dente timer!

My husband loved this, getting it for Christmas. However it’s very disappointing that you can just about the music. I agree with other reviewers that it isn’t worth the amount of money paid if you can’t hear the music. Disappointed.

Does not function as designed!
Not at all worth the price, this should be 10 bucks, max!!!At 4.5 inches tall, this little guy needs a lot of water to “sing” in, requiring a larger pot than I usually use for pasta. Heavier on the bottom because of the music player; but for some reason, it only floats face down. You can still hear the tinny music and the songs are definitely recognizable. But the times are off for all of them. I had my water at a good boil as instructed and all of the times were a minute+ short though. Maybe if I only had it at a simmer it would have been on time? Also, I wonder if you salt your pasta water, would it degrade the instrument over time? Would work well as a White Elephant/ Dirty Santa gift, but I don’t think anyone would really use it to time cooking pasta. It would be need to be lower priced though (I’m seeing it at $25!)

Die Lieferung war sehr schnell, wie angegeben. Am selben Tag noch ausprobiert, und man höre und staune, das die Töne so sind, wie auf der Verpackung zu lesen sind.Leider habe ich auch festgestellt, das es bischen leise ist, aber das ist sicherlich in Ordnung.

It’s been more than a year that we had this and we are so happy to hear the music to know how long the pasta and the eggs are cooking.
