Highly recommend for Fashion design
I honestly love this book, informative, easy to understand. With design briefs, to get you practicing. I highly recommend this book, even if you love fashion and can’t afford to go to fashion school, this book is great, and watch Zoe Hong videos on YouTube. She’s really great

The exercises are outstanding
Excellent book. The exercises are incredibly helpful when it comes to teaching you how to focus on specific design elements and inspirations. As a designer it is easy to let your mind run wild, but this book does a great job at teaching how to focus your thoughts and being more intentional with you designs. It also does a fantastic job at helping you explore things that are commonly thought in design schools. This is probably my favorite design book that I’ve read.

An Absolute Delight!
An absolute delight to finally have a physical book from none other than Zoe Hong. Her knowledge, down-to-earth candid personality shines through as strongly as her YouTube videos. I love the thick, colored pages, layout, and hefty-ness to the book. Beautiful and efficient in providing the nitty-gritty, down & dirty, need-to-know fashion education while focusing on sustainability.Favorite quote so far, “Raise your hand if you’ve heard me say, “Fabric technology is the future of fashion at least three times.”

Best Fashion Book Purchase In A Long Time!
Party people! I’ve been watching Zoe’s YouTube channel for years and was so excited to hear she was releasing a book! It’s been about 10 years since I was in school, and despite working in the industry, I really wanted a refresher as I moved into potentially starting a business. Zoe is extremely knowledgeable and straightforward which I really appreciate as an individual who can get glassy eyed when reading “wordy” books. As I read it, I can hear Zoe as well, which makes it that much more fun!

Fascinating. Highly Informative. Practical. And thoroughly Entertaining!
Zoe’s uniquely compelling and proven approach to teaching fashion design principles and processes along with her refreshingly (and often quite humorously!) forthright personality are what has made her YouTube channel so successful. This book is likewise a uniquely practical rundown and “highly usable” guide into the fashion design process that can benefit beginners “and” those further down the line alike. It’s not simply a “must do or else” book, rather it’s more of a “these approaches are well proven, but flexibility exists for a reason” type of work. And that’s a good thing. The what’s, the why’s, AND most importantly “the how to’s.”Zoe has incorporated both practical examples and well defined exercises that motivate and give you a great “hands on” starting point that literally leads to tangible results for those willing to “…walk the walk.” Toping it all off with her industry insights, and many beautifully executed sketches, illustrations and helpful diagrams makes this a must have! (Buy it AND use it!)

Even better than I expected!
I’m planning on starting a fashion business in the next few years, but I didn’t want to commit to 4 years and a ton of debt for a traditional fashion school degree. I know the basics of running a business, but not much when it comes to industry-specific knowledge. Fashion School in a Book is packed solid with topics I really wanted to learn about, plus a whole bunch of information that I didn’t even know I needed. I’m definitely gonna be reading this book multiple times, taking notes, practicing techniques, making lists, etc…there’s just SO MUCH actionable info to unpack. And it’s all fun to read! No matter how technical the topic gets, the writing is always shaped by the author’s witty/sarcastic personality, which means I can read it for business and for pleasure! Thanks so much for writing this book Zoe, it’s awesome and I love it!

Ms Hong delivers beyond expectations in this book that is nothing short of a fashion intensive and better than expensive classes (that I have taken) from top expensive schools.Get this for yourself or your teen who is looking for a start in a fashion career.
