Great gift item for someone that loves fashion!
First, this is a great coffee table book. I’m not sure how many, make and female, have picked it up to look at while in my living room. It covers many different fashion eras and gives an explanation of the designs. It is pretty interesting!

Learning A Lot!
If you want to learn about fashion history, you will get much value from this book! I love the many pictures of real clothes, paintings, and sculptures of costumes throughout history. I have yet to finish the book, but I have already learned so much and picked up on the names of many historic garments.I believe this is a must-have book to learn and appreciate how costume and fashion have evolved over time.

This is an excellent book that provides a comprehensive history of fashion over the centuries, placing in its social and cultural context. Thousands of wonderful images with detailed descriptions and a very useful glossary at the end of the volume. A great resource for anyone interested in fashion and a wonderful coffee table book for everyone to browse (the fluoro lime green cover is a bit strong on the eye but I understand it is consistent with the editorial choice made by DK for their visual guides’ series). The book is also great value for money and was delivered in pristine conditions earlier than expected so happy on all fronts!
