Luxurious, High Quality, Expensive
I really enjoyed using this mask. I have always been a fan of creamy clay masks and this mask contains a bunch of ingredients that are wonderful for your skin such as clays, algae, honey, and other herbs.The jar is made of glass and the gold lid adds an attractive visual, the packaging looks very luxury overall.The texture of this mask is smooth and it spreads easily over your skin when applying it, I think I did a bit too thick of a layer so it didn’t dry out all the way before I washed it off but it would probably dry out completely if you did a thin layer.The scent is appealing as well, you don’t get any kind of seaweed smell, it basically just smells like herbs and honey.Rinsing this off was just as challenging as rinsing off other similar clay masks, next time I use this I think wiping my face with a wet wash cloth to get the majority off before trying to rinse with water would be advisable. At first I was kind of upset after drying off my face because it felt a little sticky (likely from the honey) but after a few minutes that sensation went away and I was left with glowing soft skin that looked more radiant than usual.My only real complaint about this product is the price for the amount of mask you get, spending over $50 for less than 2oz of product is a bit ridiculous, especially when the jar doesnt even look full when it’s brand new. I mean don’t get me wrong this mask is nice, but I have experience making skincare products from scratch so I know that none of the ingredients in this mask are that expensive for the manufacturer to buy so they are definitely making a huge amount of profit off this mask, the glass jar and fancy box does add a bit of cost but that still doesn’t justify the high price in my honest opinion. After one use the jar looks very noticeably less full so I don’t feel this will last many uses.However this brand clearly seems to be marketing itself as a luxury brand which is evident from the high price of their other products, so if you have the extra cash to afford spending so much on a face mask I’d say it’s worth it to try this out because it did make my skin look and feel nice. This would also be a very lovely fancy gift to give someone on a special occasion like their birthday.

Very small jar for a mask
So I was really impressed at first with the packaging in the way of the jar. The jar is glass and it looks really nice. However, for being a mask this is not much product. I use this once and I can already see the bottom maybe I used too much, but in order to cover my face this is how much product was needed, you’re only supposed to use it 1 to 2 times a week but it’s only gonna last that long. The smell is very mild, but I did not like how it started flaking off after 10 minutes. It kind of made a mess everywhere I went.

MARA – Natural Volcanic Sea Clay Detox MasqueThe 1.7 fl oz / 50 ml mask arrived in a branded box (wrapped in sturdy bubble wrap) that contained an insert with basic information about the key ingredients, directions on how to use it, and their clean beauty promise. The black glass jar with gold lettering and lid is beautiful. The listing states this product is vegan (it’s not, it contains honey), but that isn’t marked anywhere on the box or jar, so it’s the listing that needs to be corrected.This is the most luxurious mask I’ve ever used. You only need to apply a thin layer, so the jar should last a while. I’ve had acne-prone, oily sky for most of my life, so I’ve used many clay masks over the years because they’ve helped my skin. However, I’ve got acne-prone, combination skin now, so am appreciating that this greenish-gray clay mask leaves my face feeling detoxed and fresh, but soothed. The mask never fully dries so it doesn’t get tight, which I definitely prefer, and it has several ingredients to help ward off acne, which is helpful to me.The first time I used this mask I only applied it to my oiler T-zone, but my skin felt and looked so soft and clean, and the mask seemed gentle, so a good week later I confidently applied it to my entire face. I used a hydrating serum shortly after using the mask and applied a light moisturizer. This mask doesn’t contain any “icky” ingredients and has a few soothing ones (green tea leaf extract, honey, and aloe vera leaf juice) that make for a luxurious mask that applied easily with the usual cold feeling, is unscented to my nose, and washed off without any issues.Marked with an icon stating that the mask is good for 12 months after opening. A label on the bubble wrap had the date 2/28/2025 on it, which I assume is an EXP date. Cruelty free and sustainably sourced. Made in the USA.

Super smoothing
The Mara Volcanic Sea Clay Masque was a surprise hit for me. I don’t normally like clay masks, but I decided to try this one because it has kaolin which works better for my normal but “mature” skin. It also has bentonite, but it must be a good amount or well balanced by moisturizing ingredients. Because this left my skin really smooth and soft. It did exactly what it claimed in cleaning my pores without being drying.There are a lot of other interesting anti-oxidant and moisturizing ingredients in this. Some are even new to me. Some notable ones are camellia sinensis leaf extract (green tea), alaria esculenta extract (brown algae), moringa oleifera seed oil, honey, aloe, vaccinium myrtillus seed oil, and withania somnifera (ashwaghanda).It also contains phenethyl alcohol, which is an aromatic alcohol. I actually like the scent of this product. I’m glad that it doesn’t have a seaweed smell but instead has a hint of rose.This mask looked and felt nice, smelled nice and had great results. I recommend it.

The jar I received was almost empty and dried out
The jar I received looked like it had been used, returned and sent to me. There was hardly anything left in the jar and whatever was left it was dry. Looked very disgusting so there was no way I was going to touch or try it at all.
